While many of us celebrated recent victories and the rejection of Trump, one question remains: Did you participate in the election?
Voting is essential, but it’s not enough. We must educate, register, and mobilize. Yes, you can donate a few dollars to support critical campaigns, but more importantly, we need to find ways to strengthen the democratic process and protect its integrity.
In the latest elections, Latino turnout was lower than in the national elections—a surprising but positive sign of change. The Republican map in Texas was built on the assumption that Latinos would vote heavily for the MAGA message. Now, that assumption is in question, and five newly drawn seats could be invalidated.
The white house Is not a ballroom
The destruction of the East Wing to build a ballroom is outrageous. The White House is our house, and the current tenant has broken his moral lease.
And about Trump’s so-called “dancing”? It could fit in the space of an airplane restroom—no ballroom required. Some even say his erratic movements resemble someone who forgot to take their medication.
Solidarity at the border
This week, we’re delivering over 300 pounds of soap products donated by Lush Canada to shelters for immigrant women in El Paso/Juárez and to Las Americas, a nonprofit doing incredible legal work at the border.
In early December, we’ll pick up another donation from Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap Company, which has supported our efforts since 2016. Every contribution—large or small—helps us get these products to shelters and activists.
Adelita Grijalva: Justice and persistence
At last, Adelita was sworn into the office she won decisively. Her swearing-in was delayed because her vote could have forced the release of the Epstein Files—documents expected to be damaging to Trump.
I had the privilege of interviewing this remarkable Chicana before her father passed away and she announced her candidacy to succeed him.
Donations make a difference
Thank you to everyone who has donated in recent months. From the Gloo Factory in Tucson—a union shop printing progressive materials on human rights—to individuals giving time and resources to fight this movement of hate.
Trump’s support is unraveling
November’s elections proved Trump is a liability for Republican candidates. He was loudly booed at an NFL game, his daughter-in-law Lara at a major wrestling event, and even Marjorie Taylor Greene is demanding the release of the Epstein Files.
Conservative strategists have told Trump they won’t back his efforts to bury those documents. He vowed to bring “the best of the best” into his administration—but delivered the worst of the worst.
Now, Speaker Mike Johnson has shut down the House to block a vote on releasing the Epstein Files. How long will this go on?
It’s time to act
We must flood Republican offices with calls and visits demanding the vote. This is not about party politics—it’s about morality. Will they defend victims or protect pedophiles and their enablers?
People of faith must stand for children, not for the powerful men who abused them. There is very bad news for Trump and others in those files—and they know it.
No kings
Historic protests and relentless grassroots action have built a coalition of resistance that must grow stronger. People are dying because of the illegal and immoral actions of this administration.
We must work together. And together, we will win.
