El rapero estadounidense Tekashi 6ix9ine fue arrestado en República Dominicana, donde comparecerá ante un tribunal el jueves por cargos de violencia doméstica.
El rapero, cuyo nombre verdadero es Daniel Hernández, permanece en una cárcel de la capital, Santo Domingo, donde fue arrestado el miércoles, informaron autoridades.
De momento, no se proporcionaron más detalles sobre el caso, y no estaba claro si Hernández contaba con un abogado.
Se espera que un juez decida el jueves si el rapero permanecerá tras las rejas o será liberado bajo fianza mientras continúa la investigación.

Fue detenido en un hotel de playa en República Dominicana en octubre después de ser acusado de agredir a un productor musical local. Hernández y su pareja, una rapera dominicana conocida como Yailín la Más Viral, habían grabado en el estudio del productor.
Hernández también fue acusado anteriormente en Estados Unidos de usar a una pandilla violenta como un “escuadrón de sicarios personal”, pero evitó ir a prisión después de declarar contra los Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, que operan en la costa este de Estados Unidos.

Uvalde, Texas.— Police officials who responded to the deadly Uvalde, Texas, elementary school shooting waited far too long to confront the gunman, acted with “no urgency” in establishing a command post and repeatedly communicated inaccurate information to grieving families, according to a Justice Department report released Thursday that identifies “cascading failures” in law enforcement’s handling of the massacre.
The Justice Department report, the most comprehensive federal accounting of the maligned police response to the May 24, 2022, shooting at Robb Elementary School, catalogs a sweeping array of training, communication, leadership and technology problems that federal officials say contributed to the crisis lasting far longer than necessary. All the while, the report says, terrified students inside the classrooms called 911 and agonized parents begged officers to go in.
“I told the families gathered last night what I hope is clear among the hundreds of pages and thousands of details in this report: Their loved ones deserved better,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said at a news conference in Uvalde on Thursday after briefing family members on the Justice Department’s findings.

Even for a mass shooting that has already been the subject of intense scrutiny and in-depth examinations — an earlier report by Texas lawmakers, for instance, faulted law enforcement at every level with failing “to prioritize saving innocent lives over their own safety» — the nearly 600–page Justice Department report adds to the public understanding of how police failed to stop an attack that killed 19 children and two staff members.
The report underscores how police made a costly error in assuming that the shooter was barricaded, or otherwise contained or dead, even as he continued to fire shots. That mistaken “mindset permeated throughout much of the incident response» as police, rather than rushing inside the classrooms to end the carnage, waited nearly an hour to confront the gunman in what the report called a costly “lack of urgency.”
The gunman, Salvador Ramos, was killed roughly 77 minutes after police arrived on the scene, when a tactical team led by the Border Patrol eventually went into the classroom to take him down.
“An active shooter with access to victims should never be considered and treated as a barricaded subject,” the report says, with the word “never” emphasized in italics.

In other errors, the report says, police acted with “no urgency” in establishing a command center at the scene, creating confusion among police about who was in charge. Officials also hindered the response, with the then-school district police chief, Pete Arredondo, discarding his radios on arrival because he deemed them unnecessary.
Although Arredondo tried to communicate by phone with officers elsewhere in the school hallway, he told them not to enter the classrooms “because he appeared to determine that other victims should first be removed from nearby classrooms to prevent further injury.”
Uvalde, a community of more than 15,000 about 85 miles (140 kilometers) southwest of San Antonio, continues to struggle with the trauma left by the killing of 19 elementary students and two teachers, and remains divided on questions of accountability for officers’ actions and inaction. Uvalde County District Attorney Christina Mitchell has said she’s still considering whether to bring criminal charges related to the shooting.

In Texas, Republican Gov. Greg Abbott initially praised the officers’ courage, and blame was later cast on local authorities in Uvalde. But a report from a panel of state lawmakers and investigations by journalists laid bare how over the course of more than 70 minutes, a mass of officers went in and out of the school with weapons drawn but did not go inside the classroom where the shooting was taking place.
In fact, the Justice Department report details how early policing errors were compounded by communication failures in the ensuing days as authorities distributed inaccurate and conflicting information, sowing rumors and misinformation.
In one case, Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw falsely accused a school staffer of propping open a door that the shooter used to enter the building, a statement that unleashed a wave of anger and vilification. In fact, the employee was among the first to call 911 and warn others about the shooter, and she did not prop open the door.
“The actions of the responding officers, combined with the ‘heroic’ storyline that started with (a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety) and continued the next day during the Governor’s and director’s news conference, dealt a serious blow to public confidence in local and state law enforcement,” the report states.
The report intentionally omits the identify of the gunman, focusing solely on the failed police response. But it does include page-long remembrances of each of the victims, including 10-year-old Jose Flores Jr., who loved cars and the Houston Astros, and Amerie Jo Garza, who on the morning of the shooting had celebrated her appointment to the honor roll.

It also includes anguished and panicked quotes from the students — “Help!” “Help!” “Help!” “I don’t want to die. My teacher is dead” — on a 911 call while they remained trapped in the classroom, experiencing “unimaginable horror” while law enforcement was in the hallway.
In the 20 months since the Justice Department announced its review, footage showing police waiting in a hallway outside the fourth-grade classrooms where the gunman opened fire has become the target of national criticism.
Garland was in Uvalde on Wednesday ahead of the release of the report, visiting murals of the victims that have been painted around the center of the town. Later that night, Justice Department officials privately briefed family members at a community center in Uvalde before the findings were made public.
Velma Lisa Duran, whose sister Irma Garcia was one of the teachers killed, said she spoke by phone with a Justice Department official Tuesday and is grateful for the agency’s work but has not yet read the report.
Duran, 52, said she had read the state lawmakers’ report and watched body camera video from the shooting. She’s daunted by the prospect of reliving the circumstances of her sister’s death, once again, over hundreds of pages, and what she really wants is criminal charges.
“A report doesn’t matter when there are no consequences for actions that are so vile and murderous and evil,” said Duran. “What do you want us to do with another report? … Bring it to court,” she said.

The federal review was launched just days after the shooting, and local prosecutors are still evaluating a separate criminal investigation by the Texas Rangers. Several of the officers involved have lost their jobs.
How police respond to mass shootings around the country has been scrutinized since the tragedy.
The delayed response countered active-shooter training that emphasizes confronting the gunman, a standard established more than two decades ago after the mass shooting at Columbine High School showed that waiting cost lives. As what happened during the shooting has become clear, the families of some victims have blasted police as cowards and demanded resignations.
At least five officers lost their jobs, including two Department of Public Safety officers and the on–site commander, Arredondo.

PHILADELPHIA.— Brandon Graham surveyed the media horde waiting to dissect the Philadelphia Eagles’ season-ending failure with players that packed up their lockers Wednesday and bellowed at reporters that they were out of luck for a story.
“Y’all ain’t getting nothing,” he said, laughing. “All the bad stuff’s been reported already.”
Oh, Brandon.
After 14 seasons with the Eagles, the veteran defensive end should have known the show was about to begin.
Fletcher Cox crudely told off a reporter. Jason Kelce steeled his emotions as he waved off questions about retirement plans. Nick Sirianni’s worthiness as a head coach was a hot topic.
It was that kind of goodbye from a team ready to say good riddance to the season in the wake of one of the worst collapses in Philadelphia sports history — and there have been many.
There was no update Wednesday on the fate of Sirianni or any members of his staff after a 10-1 start to a win-or-bust season ended with a 1-6 finish that included a loss to Tampa Bay in an NFC wild-card game.
Most Eagles players were quick to defend Sirianni. The third-year coach did, after all, lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl just 11 months ago. He has three playoff trips in three seasons on his resume.
Except the final seven weeks made an indelible stain from which Sirianni might not recover.
At least that’s the theory from fans on sports talk radio and even some media and other pundits who believe Sirianni shouldn’t get off the hook.
Cox, the defensive tackle who has yet to decide if he’ll return for a 13th season, manufactured outrage when asked about swirling speculation that Sirianni is on the hot seat.
“Huh? C’mon, man,” Cox said. “He’s the head football coach of this team. C’mon, man. There ain’t even no (expletive) discussion about that.”
Pressed more on Sirianni, Cox said, “What’s there to talk about?”
“This man, he’s a winner. He’s a winning head coach,” Cox said. “Did we have some bumps this year? Yeah. But every team, every organization, everybody goes through it. We don’t look at firing a man who obviously has won 10-plus games two years in a row, that took this organization to three playoff appearances three years in a row. Have some respect. Coach, he’s a good leader for this team. He does a really good job. Did we come up short? Yeah. Did things happen this year? Yeah. I don’t discuss firing a man. This man’s got a family. I don’t discuss anything about that.”
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie will decide Sirianni’s future. If Cox really believed Sirianni shouldn’t be fired, perhaps he needed a reminder that Lurie fired Sirianni’s predecessor, Doug Pederson, only three seasons after winning the franchise’s first Super Bowl.
It doesn’t help that should Lurie fire Sirianni, the pool of candidates is particularly deep this offseason. Bill Belichick is on the market. Mike Vrabel is free. Even Jim Harbaugh might have an itch to return to the NFL.
Jalen Hurts will certainly be back after the star QB agreed in April to a five-year, $255 million extension, including $179.3 million guaranteed. Graham and Cox may be undecided about one more run with the Eagles. Kelce, the heart of the Eagles and Pro Bowl center, has all but officially called it quits after 13 seasons.
Kelce told teammates in confidence after the playoff loss that he’s not coming back. He danced around the topic on Wednesday’s edition of the “New Heights” podcast he co-hosts with younger brother and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
The 36-year-old shut down retirement talk at the Eagles complex.
“Before we start, I’m not addressing any retirement questions today,” Kelce said. “But I will answer any questions regarding end of the season and football stuff that I think people are entitled to.”
In that regard, Kelce said the “big turning point” of the season was Philadelphia’s loss to San Francisco. The Eagles were 10-1 before they were clobbered by the 49ers at home by 23 points in an NFC championship game rematch. Dallas beat the Eagles by 20 points the next week and the losses — and finger pointing — snowballed from there.
Like his teammates, Kelce stuck up for Sirianni.
“I love Nick,” Kelce said. “I think Nick’s a great coach, I really do. I think he’s a great head coach. Obviously, nobody was good enough this year. I wasn’t. None of the players. None of the coaches were good enough down the stretch. That’s the reality of the business. When you’re that bad, it’s a collective thing.”
Kelce has at least one more game left — or at least, one NFL event. He’ll head to the Pro Bowl, which has turned into a skills competition in Orlando, Florida. He wants to take his family to Disney World. He wants to watch Travis in the playoffs.
And then?
Maybe by the end of the Super Bowl, Kelce will be officially retired.
“It’s a hard thing to step away from,” Kelce said, before catching himself, “I’m imagining.”

During the committee hearing, Senator Ingoglia propagated misinformation about the essence of his bill meant to invalidate Community IDs, while perpetuating an environment of fear-mongering and basically equating all immigrants with terrorists and cartel members. Brave activists present at the hearing passionately spoke up about the positive impact of Community ID programs and the vital role they play in fostering inclusivity.
The language of SB 1174 raises serious concerns, unlike Senator Ingoglia’s statement, as it seeks to prohibit local governments from funding and accepting community IDs. However, during questioning by colleagues, Senator Ingoglia noticeably shied away from addressing the ramifications of restricting the acceptance of community IDs.
In a pivotal moment during the hearing, Senator Geraldine Thompson questioned Senator Ingoglia on the potential impact of the bill on communities that rely on Community IDs. Senator Ingoglia’s response only scratched the surface, stating, «This only makes sure that governments are not funding IDs.» However, it is crucial to note that the bill explicitly states that a county may not accept as identification any card or document issued by entities knowingly providing identification to individuals not lawfully present in the United States.
Law enforcement has shown support for these programs, recognizing the value they bring to community safety and to the safety of the officers who interact with them. Community IDs also allow for families to register and pick-up their children in school, get a library card, and run errands around the community. The vagueness of the bill allows it widespread impact on our families and their future ability to function in the state.
Tessa Petit, Executive Director of The Florida Immigrant Coalition said,
“Community ID programs require individuals to go through a meticulous process to obtain a card, including submitting a passport from their country of origin, and other forms of identification. Beyond the legitimacy of the process, it’s important to note the impact that IDs have on the lives of the individuals who seek them. It allows them access to basic services and day to day critical transactions. The Community IDs give legitimacy to the individuals seeking to contribute positively in our Florida communities.”
Senator Lauren Book poignantly noted at the hearing that this bill goes too far and she also expressed concern noting, “you can’t take someone’s identity in this way when all they’re trying to do is exist; they are here.»
Sonia Moreno, a beneficiary of Community IDs in Broward County expressed,
“As a Single Mother of two children born here, the Community ID has helped me to pick up my children from school, and even yesterday, which was my daughter’s first day in her classes, it helped me while I accompanied her to register. I received my Community ID in Broward the first day the program opened and I use it as a second ID when they ask me for two valid IDs. I am very grateful to Broward County and the consideration they had with families like mine.”
As the community expresses its concerns about the potential impact of SB 1174, it is imperative that a balanced and informed discussion takes place to address the legitimate needs of all members of society.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Democrats in majority control of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives advanced several gun control measures Wednesday, including one that would ban sales of automatic and semi-automatic guns, after years of standstill in the politically divided state government.
The bills were passed by the Judiciary Committee on party lines and await the full House’s consideration.
Even if the bills clear the House floor, however, they will likely face a cold reception in the state Senate; other gun control measures passed by the House last year did not even get called up in committee. Instead, senators have prioritized working with Democrats to boost funding for anti-violence and mental health programs.
Still, it’s the second time since Democrats regained majority status in the chamber that they’ve used their heft to push gun control measures. They kicked off the current two-year session last March with a hearing on gun violence. Under Republican majorities in both chambers until last year, the Legislature has not seriously considered broadening gun-control measures since 2018.
The slate of bills that passed Judiciary on Wednesday would balance gun ownership with protecting average citizens, Democrats argued.
“These are issues that we were clear at the beginning of the session we wanted to tackle,” said the committee’s chairman, Democratic Rep. Tim Briggs of Montgomery County. “The first thing we did was have a hearing on gun violence prevention measures.”
Republicans raised concerns about infringing upon constitutional rights.
“If the government can infringe on our Second Amendment rights, no rights can be enjoyed by citizens of this nation,” said Rep. Joe Hamm, a Republican from Lycoming County.
One bill the committee approved would ban future sales of “assault weapons,” defined as automatic and semi-automatic firearms. Sponsors cited the use of high-capacity semi-automatic rifles in a number of mass shootings, including in Pittsburgh, where a gunman carried out the deadliest antisemitic attack in U.S. history in 2018 armed with an AR-15 rifle and other weapons.
Previously, Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro has said he’d support legislation that limits the availability of such firearms. At least 10 states have enacted laws banning them, sometimes spurring litigation.
Among the other legislation that passed the committee, one bill would prohibit accelerated trigger activators, which increase the rate of gunfire. Another bill would prohibit the purchase, sale and production of untraceable gun parts. A fourth would subject 3D-printed firearms to the same regulations as standard firearms.
Another bill would shorten the time a judge has to notify the Pennsylvania State Police about a person with mental health from about a week to four days.
Adam Garber, executive director of CeaseFirePA, a gun violence prevention group, said the advancing of the bills showed a “commitment to survivors.” He called the automatic weapons ban proposal the first such effort in “modern times.”
“This is what it looks like to tackle the violent crime that plagues cities from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh and everywhere else in between,» Garber said.
Nationally, the U.S. set a record pace for mass killings in the first six months of 2023. But gun violence measures also seek to address domestic violence killings, community violence and suicides.
In Philadelphia, gun violence played a significant role in the campaign for mayor, with now-Mayor Cherelle Parker, a Democrat, promising a tough-on-crime approach that included declaring a public safety emergency.
Philadelphia has been buffeted by violent crime, tallying a record number of homicides in 2021, most of them gun-related. That number has steadily fallen, but it still remained above pre-COVID-19 levels in 2023.
A full House vote likely won’t come for months, as the chamber is deadlocked at 101-101 after the resignation of a Democratic lawmaker. A special election will again determine majority status in February.

Buenos Aires, Argentina.— Familiares y allegados en Argentina de Kfir Bibas, el más pequeño de los secuestrados durante el ataque de Hamás a Israel el 7 de octubre, celebraron el miércoles su primer cumpleaños “no feliz” con globos naranjas, en alusión a su cabello pelirrojo, y pidieron por su liberación.
Varias decenas de personas participaron de la convocatoria en el Parque Centenario de Buenos Aires frente a una pantalla gigante que reproducía la ya icónica fotografía del niño sonriendo con un peluche de elefante rosa sostenido por sus manos pequeñas.
“No hay festejo sin cumpleañero”, fue la consigna del encuentro justo en vísperas de cumplir kfir su primer año de vida. “Devuélvanlo”.
Kfir Bibas tenía nueve meses cuando fue secuestrado junto a su mamá argentina-israelí Shiri Silberman, su papá Yarden Bibas y su hermano Ariel, de cuatro años, durante el ataque de Hamás al kibutz Nir Oz, en el sur de Israel.
En la misma jornada, los abuelos maternos de Kfir, el argentino José Luis Silberman y la peruana Marguit Schneider, fueron asesinados.
Hamás declaró en un comunicado que Shiri y sus dos hijos murieron en Gaza durante un ataque aéreo de Israel. En un video posterior difundido por el propio grupo armado palestino, un desconsolado Yarden Bibas apuntó contra el primer ministro israelí Benjamín Netanyahu por lo ocurrido.
Israel ha dicho que no pudo constatar las muertes de Shiri, Kfir y Ariel y denunció son parte de una campaña de terror psicológico de Hamás.
En parque Centenario, Sandra Miasnik, prima argentina de Shiri, encendió una vela de una réplica gigante de un pastel de cumpleaños y expresó que “el primer deseo es que liberen a Kfir, Ariel, Shiri y Yarden”.
“Nuestro reclamo es humanitario, no geopolítico”, expresó Miasnik. “Un bebé de un año no puede ser arrancado de su cuna y cumplir un año en cautiverio”.
También pidió a las autoridades argentinas y a los organismos de derechos humanos “no olvidar que todavía hay 12 argentinos en cautiverio y detenidos por Hamás”.
En tanto que la Organización Sionista Argentina (OSA) distribuía velas naranjas en sinagogas, instituciones y clubes deportivos y en la vía pública para encenderlas el jueves y pedir como deseo la pronta libertad de Kfir.
“Hagamos que nuestras velas iluminen el camino hacia su verdadero hogar”, expresó la organización en un comunicado.

Durante las pasadas semanas se han venido registrando casos de sarampión en la región, por lo que la Ciudad está trabajando para identificar a todas las personas que puedan haber estado expuestas.
Esta semana el Departamento de Salud informó un nuevo caso confirmado, para un total de 9 casos (8 casos de Filadelfia, un caso fuera de Filadelfia).
Si bien el 93 por ciento de los niños de Filadelfia están vacunados contra el sarampión, sigue siendo un virus peligroso.
Alrededor del 90% de las personas que tienen contacto cercano con una persona infectada contraerán sarampión si no están vacunadas.
Aproximadamente 1 de cada 5 personas no vacunadas que contrae sarampión en los Estados Unidos es hospitalizada.
Hasta 1 de cada 20 niños con sarampión contrae neumonía, la causa más común de muerte por sarampión en niños pequeños.
Aproximadamente 1 de cada 1,000 niños que contraen sarampión desarrollarán encefalitis o inflamación del cerebro, lo que puede provocar convulsiones y dejar al niño sordo o con discapacidad intelectual.
Casi de 1 a 3 de cada 1,000 niños que se infectan con sarampión morirán por complicaciones respiratorias y neurológicas.
El nuevo caso reportado es el quinto caso asociado con el brote de guardería reportado anteriormente.
El Departamento de Salud está coordinando una serie de oportunidades de vacunación para garantizar que los niños y adultos que necesitan también una vacuna contra las paperas y la rubéola puedan vacunarse de forma gratuita en la comunidad.
Las personas que deseen vacunarse no necesitan ninguna identificación; una factura de luz, agua etc., con la dirección te calificará como residente. Si las personas que buscan vacunarse tienen seguro, se les solicita que traigan esa información. Sin embargo, no es necesario tener seguro para vacunarse.

Si estuviste en cualquiera de los sitios anteriores en los días indicados, es posible que haya sestado expuesto al sarampión.
Las personas son inmunes al sarampión si:
Nacieron antes de 1957.
Ya han tenido sarampión.
Han recibido dos dosis de la vacuna contra el sarampión (generalmente administrada como vacuna contra el sarampión, las paperas y la rubéola, o MMR) y no están inmunocomprometidos.
Si eres inmune al sarampión, no tienes que hacer nada, incluso si estuviste en esos edificios en las fechas indicadas.
Si no eres inmune al sarampión
Debes tomar precauciones si puedes haber estado expuesto y no eres inmune al sarampión. Esto incluye a los bebés menores de 12 a 15 meses, que generalmente aún no han sido vacunados.
Comunícate con el proveedor de atención médica o pediatra de inmediato, especialmente si no te sientes bien. Informar al médico acerca de la posible exposición al sarampión.
Avisa a tu proveedor de atención médica antes de visitarlo.
Quédate en casa. Podrías transmitir el sarampión a personas vulnerables, por lo que debes ponerse en cuarentena.
Si no estás seguro de si eres inmune
Si estuviste expuesto al sarampión en una fecha y lugar mencionados anteriormente, debes:
Comunícate con tu proveedor de atención médica o pediatra de inmediato, especialmente si no te sientes bien. Puedes revisar tus registros de vacunación para asegurarte de que hayas recibido ambas dosis de la vacuna MMR.
Usa mascarilla en espacios públicos cerrados y cerca de cualquier persona que no esté vacunada, hasta que conozca su estado. Esto ayudará a evitar que otras personas se expongan.
Síntomas del sarampión
Cada persona que tiene sarampión puede infectar a docenas de personas. Los síntomas suelen aparecer una o dos semanas después de la infección y entre ellos están: fiebre alta- tos -moqueo- ojos rojos y llorosos o conjuntivitis. Días después aparecen:
Manchas Koplik, que son pequeñas manchas blancas que pueden aparecer en la boca.
Sarpullido por sarampión, que generalmente comienza como manchas planas que aparecen en la cara en la línea del cabello y se extienden hacia el cuello, el tronco, los brazos, las piernas y los pies.
Una fiebre aún más alta, que puede presentarse cuando aparece la erupción.
En las personas con colores de piel más claros, la erupción puede aparecer roja. En las personas con colores de piel más oscuros, el enrojecimiento puede ser más difícil de ver, o puede parecer morado o más oscuro que la piel circundante.
Si no está vacunado, vacúnese de inmediato
Comuníquese con su proveedor de atención médica acerca de las vacunas tiene hijos que tienen al menos un año y no han sido vacunados.
La vacuna MMR, que protege contra el sarampión, las paperas y la rubéola, es extremadamente segura y eficaz para prevenir el sarampión. La vacuna MMR se ha utilizado de manera segura durante décadas y protege a millones de estadounidenses. Dos dosis de la vacuna tienen una eficacia del 97% en la prevención del sarampión. Es muy poco probable que las personas que han recibido dos dosis de la vacuna y no están gravemente inmunocomprometidas contraigan sarampión.
Los niños deben recibir su primera dosis de la vacuna entre los 12 y los 15 meses de edad. Deben recibir su segunda dosis entre los 4 y los 6 años. Si no se ha recibido ambas dosis antes de los 6 años, se debe recibir la primera o segunda dosis lo antes posible. Los bebés de 6 a 11 meses que viajan al extranjero deben recibir una dosis temprana de MMR.

Santo Domingo. – El presidente de Francia, Emmanuel Macron, planteó a su homólogo de República Dominicana, Luis Abinader, el interés de su país en participar con recursos en la construcción de una tercera línea del metro de Santo Domingo.
Macron también saludó los esfuerzos diplomáticos dominicanos en apoyo a una resolución del Consejo de Seguridad de las Naciones Unidas para el despliegue de una misión multinacional en Haití dirigida a apoyar a la Policía Nacional de ese país para combatir las bandas armadas.
Así lo dio a conocer este martes el Gobierno dominicano en un comunicado, en el que puntualiza que lo expresado por el presidente galo está contenido en una carta que envió a Abinader el 31 de diciembre pasado.
En la misiva, Macron celebra la confianza depositada por el Gobierno dominicano en empresas francesas para el desarrollo de importantes proyectos como las líneas del metro en Santo Domingo, afirmó la información oficial.
Asimismo, Macron expresó el deseo de Francia de participar en la construcción de una tercera línea del metro en la capital dominicana, iniciativa que podría ir acompañada de un acuerdo intergubernamental y una oferta de financiación.
Finalmente, señala el comunicado, el presidente francés anunció que a inicios de este 2024 un miembro de su Gobierno visitará República Dominicana para reforzar la cooperación bilateral y avanzar en los proyectos mencionados.
La Dirección de Prensa de la Presidencia consideró que la carta de Macron a Abinader es una muestra del interés de Francia en estrechar lazos con República Dominicana y apoyar iniciativas de desarrollo e infraestructura, especialmente en áreas como transporte y movilidad urbana.
«El Gobierno dominicano valora este acercamiento que, sin duda, fortalecerá la relación entre ambas naciones», destacó el parte oficial.
