Un jurado empezó a deliberar este lunes en el juicio que acusa a una madre, Jennifer Crumbley, de cuatro cargos de homicidio involuntario por el tiroteo masivo que cometió su hijo en un instituto de Michigan en 2021 y que acabó con la vida de cuatro personas.
Crumbley, de 45 años, se convirtió en la primera madre en el país en ser juzgada por un tiroteo cometido por su hijo, Ethan Crumbley, que en el momento de los hechos era menor de edad y que, actualmente, cumple cadena perpetua sin libertad condicional.
La fiscalía argumentó que la mujer, que se declaró inocente de los cargos por los que se la imputa, es responsable de lo sucedido al cometer una «negligencia grave» al dar una arma a su hijo, que en 2021 tenía 15 años, en lugar de proporcionarle tratamiento adecuado.
El tiroteo masivo sucedió el 30 de noviembre de 2021 en el Instituto Oxford en el municipio de Oxford (Michigan) y cuatro estudiantes resultaron muertos y otros seis alumnos y un profesor heridos, por lo que Ethan se declaró culpable de un delito de terrorismo, cuatro de asesinato y otros 19 cargos relacionados con la matanza.
Durante la semana pasada, distintos personas entre ellas empleados de la escuela y personas que conocían a la madre, testificaron a favor de la acusación y ahora un jurado de 12 miembros tiene que llegar a un veredicto por unanimidad.
La acusación alegó que la madre sabía que su hijo tenía problemas mentales y que el adolescente, que tenía alucinaciones con fantasmas, le habría pedido ayuda y que ella nunca se lo tomó en serio.
Pero aparte de negar esta versión, al subir al estrado en su propia defensa, la madre no se arrepintió de sus actos: «Me he preguntado si habría hecho algo diferente y no lo habría hecho», sentenció.
Además, la abogada defensora argumentó que la culpa no es de la mujer, sino de la escuela por no notificar los problemas de conducta de su hijo y del propio Ethan, de quien dice que planeó y llevó a cabo el ataque por su cuenta.
La defensa también apunta al padre del perpetrador, James Crumbley, quien afronta un juicio separado por los mismos cargos previsto para marzo, por no asegurar correctamente el arma de fuego.
Dicha arma fue un regalo de los padres a Ethan, un hecho que la fiscalía también utilizó como motivo de acusación, puesto que existen vídeos en redes sociales que muestran a madre e hijo probando el artilugio en un campo de tiro días antes del tiroteo.
Por último, la acusación destacó la inacción de Crumbley en una reunión en el instituto el mismo día del tiroteo, en la que recomendaron a los padres que Ethan recibiera tratamiento sobre su salud mental al encontrar un dibujo hecho por él, en el que aparecía una pistola y una persona sangrando.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Gov. Josh Shapiro is set to deliver a second budget proposal to Pennsylvania lawmakers on Tuesday with a firmer grasp on how he wants to pursue several top priorities, his state in a relatively strong fiscal position and lessons learned from last year’s ugly budget fight.
Most details of the Democratic governor’s budget plan for the 2024-25 fiscal year, which starts July 1, remain under wraps. But Shapiro has made it clear he will seek more money for higher education and public transit agencies and possibly underfunded public schools.
He also wants to spend more money to attract major companies and seems ready to revisit the controversial item that helped sow a protracted budget fight last year: creating a new private school voucher program.
Shapiro’s first budget proposal disappointed many allies who felt it wasn’t bold enough. This year, he’s returning with bigger proposals based on recommendations from his task forces or appointees.
Shapiro faces a number of cost pressures, too, from health care for the poor to county-run mental health services.
One other difference this year is that Shapiro is expected to deliver his budget address to a joint session of the House and Senate in the Capitol Rotunda. Governors historically deliver the speech in the House chamber, but workers have put up scaffolding there to repair damage from a water leak a year ago.
Whatever Shapiro proposes will require passage from the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives and the Republican-controlled Senate. Appropriations Committee hearings start Feb. 20.
Here’s what to watch for Tuesday:
THE BUDGET BASICS
Shapiro will almost certainly propose an operating budget that spends above this year’s $45 billion approved plan.
That’s partly because an extra federal pandemic-era Medicaid subsidy, worth about $1 billion a year, is ending and Shapiro has said he wants to spend more money on several priorities.
Those include nearly $300 million more for public transit agencies, a roughly 25% increase, and a substantial, but undisclosed, increase for state-owned universities.
Shapiro also wants to spend big to attract large industrial facilities, such as a microchip factory, by getting large tracts of land permitted and prepared for construction.
“We need to invest if we want to compete nationally and internationally,” Shapiro said last month.
Also, pressure is on Shapiro to respond more fully to last year’s court decision that found Pennsylvania’s system of funding public schools violates the constitutional rights of students in poorer districts.
Last month, Shapiro’s appointees backed a non-binding recommendation to send $1.3 billion more next year to public schools, including subsidies for high-tax districts and school construction. He hasn’t said whether his budget proposal will reflect that recommendation.

THE FISCAL SITUATION
Tax collections are meeting expectations and Shapiro has a strong cash cushion, for now.
The state expects to have $13 billion in cash when the fiscal year ends June 30, thanks to federal COVID-19 aid over the past four years and inflation-juiced tax collections that filled up the state’s treasury.
Meanwhile, a credit rating upgrade in November was Pennsylvania’s first since it drew six downgrades between 2012 and 2017, including two by each of the big three rating agencies, while grappling with entrenched post-recession deficits.
Still, Pennsylvania is running deficits again, using $1 billion in surplus cash to prop up this year’s spending.
The state also is saddled with a slow-growing economy and grim demographic trends showing a shrinking working-age population and a fast-growing retirement-age population that pays less in taxes and costs more to care for.

SHAPIRO’S PRIORITIES
Shapiro has made a list of items that he considers to be unfinished business.
That includes raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, which Republicans have blocked in the Senate, and creating a new $100 million private school voucher program that Democrats in the House have blocked.
The voucher program is particularly radioactive for Democrats and Shapiro’s support for it sets him apart from other Democratic governors around the country.
Like 19 other states, Pennsylvania’s minimum wage is at the federal minimum of $7.25.

TAXES
Shapiro has said he will propose a budget that cuts taxes, without offering further details.
Shapiro and lawmakers in December approved an increase in the monthly fee on phone bills, from $1.65 to $1.95, to raise another $60 million for county 911 emergency response services.
OTHER COST PRESSURES
School boards say they are paying too much to charter schools and Democratic lawmakers are pushing to restart a dormant program subsidizing school construction projects.
Meanwhile, providers of services for the intellectually disabled and autistic say the system is beset by underfunding and staffing shortages.
Counties say the safety-net mental health services they manage are in dire need of more money to create more beds and attract more counselors for waiting lists of people who need help.

Taylor Swift ganó el premio al álbum del año en los Grammy por “Midnights”, rompiendo el récord de más victorias en la categoría con cuatro.

Karol G hizo historia en los Grammy al convertirse en la primera artista femenina en ganar el premio al mejor álbum de música urbana. Se llevó a casa el honor por su exitoso disco “Mañana será bonito”, que le fue presentado por Christina Aguilera y Maluma.

Pero no queda duda que, dada la naturaleza de la lesión, es posible que Embiid esté fuera por una significativa cantidad de tiempo.
Embiid fue nombrado como uno de los titulares por la Conferencia del Este para el Juego de Estrellas de la NBA, la séptima vez en su carrera en que consigue integrar el equipo. Taylor Swift won album of the year at the Grammy Awards for “Midnights,” breaking the record for most wins in the category with four.
She began her speech by thanking her producer and friend Jack Antonoff and added, “I would love to tell you this is the happiest moment of my life,” she told the crowd, but said she feels this happy when she creates music and plays shows.
Earlier in the night, Taylor Swift used her 13th Grammy win on Sunday to announced her new album, “Tortured Poets Department,” will arrive April 19.
“I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans,” she said while accepting the best pop vocal album award. “So, I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years which is that my brand-new album comes out April 19. It’s called ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ I’m gonna go and post the cover right now backstage.”
One of the night’s biggest awards, record of the year, went to Miley Cyrus for “Flowers,” her second-ever Grammy and second of the night.

“This award is amazing. But I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday,” she said in her speech.
Victoria Monét won best new artist. “Thank you to the champagne-servers tonight,» Monét started her acceptance speech. “Thanks to my mom, a single mom raising this really bad girl.» Then she started to cry, telling the room that this award was “15 years in the making.”

“This is my first time at the Grammys,” she told the audience in English. “And this is my first time holding my own Grammy.”
Performances were many. Olivia Rodrigo brought her bloodsucking ballad “vampire” – or in this case, bloodletting, as red liquid dripped from the walls behind her. Joni Mitchell, 80, made Grammy history by performing “Both Sides Now” from her 1969 album “Clouds”; Travis Scott did a medley of “My Eyes,” “I Know?,” and “Fein.” Burna Boy was joined by Brandy and 21 Savage and did “On Form,” “City Boys,” and “Sittin’ on Top of the World.»
A long and touching In Memoriam segment celebrated many of the musical greats lost in the year. Stevie Wonder performed “For Once in My Life” and “The Best Is Yet To Come” in honor of Tony Bennett; Annie Lennox delivered “Nothing Compares 2 U” for Sinéad O’Connor. “Artists for ceasefire, peace in the world,” Lennox said at the end of the song, her fist extended in the air.
Jon Batiste did a medley of “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Lean On Me,” and finally “Optimistic” with Ann Nesby for the late great music exec Clarence Avant. Oprah introduced a fiery Tina Turner tribute of “Proud Mary” by Fantasia Barrino and Adam Blackstone.
SZA also took the stage – performing a medley of her larger-than-life hits “Snooze” and “Kill Bill,» joined by dancers wielding katanas. Later, she’d take home the trophy for best R&B song — for “Snooze,” handed to her by Lizzo. SZA ran to the stage and gave a charming, out of breath speech because she was “changing, and then I took a shot,” before starting to tear up and saying, “Hi Taylor… I’m not an attractive crier. Have a good evening.”

Afterward, Luke Combs’ delivered a heartfelt rendition of “Fast Car” with Tracy Chapman – his cover of the Chapman classic has dominated country radio and won him song of the year at the 2023 CMAs. In 1989, Chapman won best pop vocal performance, female for the song.
Dua Lipa opened the show with a high-octane medley: first, a tease of her forthcoming single, “Training Season,” then, her most recent single, “Houdini,» and finally, her disco-pop “Barbie” hit “Dance the Night.»
Eilish and Finneas brought their “Barbie” ballad to the Grammys stage with live string accompaniment, the second of two songs from the blockbuster film in one hour. They were followed by Cyrus, who performed “Flowers” for the first time live on television – moments after receiving her first ever Grammy.
“Why are you acting like you don’t know this song?” she teased the crowd — John Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen were among those in the audience who got up to dance — and later cheered mid-song, “I just won my first Grammy!”
Four-time Grammy host — and two time nominee — Trevor Noah greeted an excited crowd, starting things off with a kiss on the cheek from Meryl Streep. “The Grammys are gonna win as Oscar,” he joked about the moment.
Best country album went to Lainey Wilson for “Bell Bottom Country,” — her very first Grammy — as presented by Kacey Musgraves. “I’m a fifth-generation farmer’s daughter,” she told the crowd, adding that she’s a “songwriting farmer,” and that’s where the musical magic came from.
Jay-Z was awarded the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award and used his speech to talk about the hip-hop greats that came before him – and heavily suggesting at the Grammys history of placing rap on the backburner – or at the very least, not in the televised version of the show. (This year, there were no rap categories on screen, but two pop, one Latin, one country and one R&B.)
“We want you all to get it right,” he said. “At least get it close to right,” before switching focus to Beyoncé. “Most Grammys, never won album fo the year. How does that work?”
Bridgers took an early lead at the Grammys, quickly winning four trophies ahead of the main telecast, with her and her boygenius bandmates bringing an infectious energy to the Premiere Ceremony.
Songwriter Justin Tranter gave her the first award Sunday, best pop duo/group performance, which went to SZA and Bridgers for “Ghost in the Machine.»
Jack Antonoff took home producer of the year, non-classical for a third year in a row, tying Babyface as the only other producer to do so consecutively. “You need the door kicked open for you,” he said in his acceptance speech. “Taylor Swift kicked that (expletive) door open for me,» referencing their work together.
The first of three new categories in 2024, best pop dance recording, was given out shortly afterward and went to Kylie Minogue for “Padam Padam» — her first win in 18 years.
About 80 Grammys were handed out pre-broadcast. Regional Mexican star Peso Pluma won his first Grammy for his first and only nomination, for best música Mexicana album for his “Genesis.”
Best African music performance, a new category which aims to highlight regional musical traditions and recognizing “recordings that utilize unique local expressions from across the African continent,” went to South African singer Tyla for her ubiquitous hit, “Water.”
“I never thought I’d say I won a Grammy at 21 years old,” she said in her acceptance speech. “Last year God decided to change my whole life.”
Killer Mike won three awards in quick succession Sunday night, but somehow ended up in police custody before the main Grammys ceremony began. Police spokesperson Officer Mike Lopez said Mike being detained stemmed from an altercation inside the arena around 4 p.m.

The news arrived after U2 frontman Bono announced the award for best pop vocal album, which went to Taylor Swift for “Midnights.”
“I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans,” she said in her speech. “So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years which is that my brand new album comes out April 19. It’s called ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ I’m gonna go and post the cover right now backstage.”
Karol G made Grammy history Sunday by becoming the first female performer to win best música urbana album. She took home the honor for her blockbuster “Mañana Será Bonito” record, which was presented to her by Christina Aguilera and Maluma.
“This is my first time at the Grammys,” she told the audience in English. “And this is my first time holding my own Grammy.”

Mariah Carey presented the night’s first award, for best pop solo performance, to Miley Cyrus for “Flowers.» It was also the singer’s first ever Grammy.
Cyrus said she almost missed the start of the show because of driving rain that is pounding Los Angeles and said she was glad she didn’t miss her chance to be onstage with Carey. Cyrus has been nominated eight times previously.
Afterward, Luke Combs’ delivered a heartfelt rendition of “Fast Car” with Tracy Chapman – his cover of the Chapman classic has dominated country radio and won him song of the year at the 2023 CMAs. In 1989, Chapman won best pop vocal performance, female for the song.

Dua Lipa opened the show with a high-octane medley: first, a tease of her forthcoming single, “Training Season,” then, her most recent single, “Houdini,» and finally, her disco-pop “Barbie” hit “Dance the Night.»
Billie Eilish and Finneas brought their “Barbie” ballad to the Grammys stage with live string accompaniment, the second of two songs from the blockbuster film in one hour. They were followed by Cyrus, who performed “Flowers” for the first time live on television – moments after receiving her first ever Grammy.

From the stage at the Crypto.com Arena, four-time Grammy host — and two time nominee — Trevor Noah greeted an excited crowd, starting things off with a kiss on the cheek from Meryl Streep. “The Grammys are gonna win as Oscar,” he joked about the moment.
Best country album went to Lainey Wilson for “Bell Bottom Country,” — her very first Grammy — as presented by Kacey Musgraves. “I’m a fifth-generation farmer’s daughter,” she told the crowd, adding that she’s a “songwriting farmer,” and that’s where the musical magic came from.
Women outpace men in the major categories, so viewers can expect to see a spotlight on its female nominees as the night continues.
Other performers include Rodrigo, Billy Joel, Boy, Travis Scott, and a first-ever Grammys performance from Joni Mitchell.
Bridgers took an early lead at the Grammys, quickly winning four trophies ahead of the main telecast, with her and her boygenius bandmates bringing an infectious energy to the Premiere Ceremony.
Songwriter Justin Tranter gave her the first award Sunday, best pop duo/group performance, which went to SZA and Bridgers for “Ghost in the Machine.»
She wasn’t on stage for that but skipped her way up with her band boygenius — made up of her, Lucy Dacus and Julian Baker — clad in matching white suits, when they won their first Grammy as a group for best rock performance for “Not Strong Enough.”
“Oh my God I want to throw up,” said Dacus in their acceptance speech. “This isn’t real. Thank you.” “Music saved my life,” Baker jumped in. “Anyone can be in a band.” Minutes later, they walked back out on stage for best rock song and best alternative music album.

Newcomer Coco Jones won best R&B performance for “ICU” in a stacked competition where she was up against SZA’s “Kill Bill” and Victoria Monét’s “How Does It Make You Feel.” SZA’s second win of the night came in the form of the best progressive R&B album for “S.O.S.”
Jack Antonoff took home producer of the year, non-classical for a third year in a row, tying Babyface as the only other producer to do so consecutively. “You need the door kicked open for you,” he said in his acceptance speech. “Taylor Swift kicked that (expletive) door open for me,» referencing their work together.
The first of three new categories in 2024, best pop dance recording, was given out shortly afterward and went to Kylie Minogue for “Padam Padam» — her first win in 18 years.
About 80 Grammys were handed out pre-broadcast. Regional Mexican star Peso Pluma won his first Grammy for his first and only nomination, for best música Mexicana album for his “Genesis.”
Early on in the afternoon, “Barbie” took home two Grammys in quick succession: for compilation soundtrack for visual media and best song written for visual media.
Billie Eilish and Finneas arrived early in the afternoon to collect song written for visual media trophy for their “Barbie” ballad “What Was I Made For.”
“This is shocking to me,” Eilish said. “I was expecting to turn right back around and leave.”
“I want to thank our parents, our dad, who worked as a construction worker at Mattel Corporation for much of our childhood to keep food the table,” said Finneas.
Best African music performance, a new category which aims to highlight regional musical traditions and recognizing “recordings that utilize unique local expressions from across the African continent,” went to South African singer Tyla for her ubiquitous hit, “Water.”
“I never thought I’d say I won a Grammy at 21 years old,” she said in her acceptance speech. “Last year God decided to change my whole life.”

El rapero estadounidense Killer Mike fue detenido este domingo justo después de haber ganado tres Grammy en la 66 edición de esos prestigiosos galardones, cuya gala previa, en la que fue premiado, se celebró en el teatro Peacock de Los Ángeles.
Un video difundido por el periodista Chris Gardner, del medio especializado The Hollywood Reporter, muestra cómo varios policías sacan del recinto al intérprete con las manos esposadas en la espalda.
Killer Mike se hizo con un grammy a la mejor actuación de rap por ‘SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS’, con André 3000, Future y Eryn Allen Kane, con otro al mejor álbum de rap por ‘MICHAEL’ y con un tercero a la mejor canción de rap también por ‘SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS’.
Según The Hollywood Reporter, el cantante fue arrestado por un cargo menor que no está relacionado con los Grammy.
«Liberen a Mike», gritaron algunos presentes al verle pasar.
El rapero y compositor estadounidense, de 48 años y nacido en Atlanta (Georgia), ganó su primer Grammy en 2003 a la mejor actuación de rap por ‘The Whole World’, su colaboración con OutKast.
Al agradecer sus premios este domingo subrayó precisamente que el rap no tiene edad: «Me importa un bledo si tienes 78 y rapeas sobre cuántas mujeres tienes en la residencia. Asegúrate de mantener el hip-hop vivo», había dicho.

Los Grammy del domingo por la noche dieron su primer trofeo a dos estrellas del momento: Karol G y Peso Pluma. Además de que tuvieron un empate para Juanes y Natalia Lafourcade.
Karol G subió al escenario de la Arena Crypto.com durante la ceremonia televisada tras ser anunciada por Maluma y Christina Aguilera como la ganadora de la categoría de mejor álbum de música urbana, en la que competía con Rauw Alejandro por “Saturno” y Tainy por “Data”.
“Hola a todos, mi nombre es Karol G, soy de Medellín, Colombia”, dijo en inglés sonriente y ataviada con un vestido drapeado color menta que contrastaba con su cabello rosa pastel. “Esta es mi primera vez en los Grammy y esta es mi primera vez sosteniendo mi propio Grammy … Mi álbum me ha dado las mejores memorias de toda mi vida, mis fans que disfrutaron mi disco me motivan y me inspiran, muchas gracias, les prometo que les daré lo mejor de mí siempre, espero que este sea el primero de muchos”.

Nueva York/Nueva Jersey acogerá la final del Mundial 2026, que organizan conjuntamente Estados Unidos, México y Canadá, y Ciudad de México albergará el partido inaugural del torneo.
La FIFA desveló este domingo el calendario completo y la distribución por ciudades de este Mundial que tomará el relevo de Qatar 2022 y que tendrá 48 selecciones en lugar de las 32 habituales, lo que dará pie a un récord de 104 partidos en total.
El MetLife Stadium de East Rutherford, el hogar de los New York Giants y los New York Jets de la NFL, se impuso en la pelea por organizar la final del 19 de julio a las otras dos grandes aspirantes: Dallas con el AT&T Stadium de Arlington y Los Ángeles con el SoFi Stadium de Inglewood.
Por su parte, el legendario Estadio Azteca, que ya vivió en 1970 el tercer triunfo de Pelé y en 1986 la coronación de Maradona, descorchará el torneo el 11 de junio con un partido en el que México se enfrentará a un rival todavía por conocerse.
El estadio de la capital mexicana es el primer recinto en la historia en ser sede de tres Mundiales diferentes tras los de 1970 y 1986. También es la tercera vez que el Estadio Azteca organizará el partido inaugural de un Mundial.
Dallas se quedó sin el premio de la final pero será la ciudad con más encuentros del Mundial con un total de nueve. Además será la sede de una de las semifinales mientras que la otra se jugará en Atlanta.
Por su parte, Miami albergará el duelo por el tercer y cuarto puesto y uno de los cruces de cuartos de final. Los otros tres tendrán lugar en Los Ángeles, Kansas City y Boston.

Con tres países organizadores por primera vez en la historia de los Mundiales, EE.UU. asumirá la mayor parte del torneo y contará con 11 sedes de las 16 en total: Seattle, la Bahía de San Francisco, Los Ángeles, Kansas City, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Boston, Filadelfia, Miami y Nueva York/Nueva Jersey.
Ciudad de México, Guadalajara y Monterrey son las tres representantes mexicanas y Vancouver y Toronto serán las ciudades canadienses para este Mundial.
Estados Unidos repetirá como organizador tras la edición de 1994. En aquella ocasión, la final del Mundial se celebró en el Rose Bowl de Pasadena (Los Ángeles), un estadio que ahora no está entre los elegidos para este torneo y que ahora cederá este honor al MetLife Stadium de Nueva York/Nueva Jersey.
Los partidos de México
La selección mexicana disputará dos partidos de la fase de grupos en Ciudad de México y uno en Guadalajara.
Además del encuentro inaugural ya mencionado, el Tri disputará su segundo partido de la fase de grupos en Guadalajara el 18 de junio y regresará al Estadio Azteca para afrontar su tercer duelo el 24 de junio.
En la fase de grupos, Guadalajara acogerá cuatro encuentros mientras que Ciudad de México y Monterrey albergarán cada uno tres encuentros de esa ronda.
Ya en las eliminatorias, Ciudad de México celebrará un partido de dieciseisavos de final y otro de octavos en tanto que Monterrey se ocupará de uno de los duelos de dieciseisavos.
Los organizadores también detallaron que EE.UU. jugará dos partidos de su fase de grupos en Los Ángeles y uno Seattle.
Asimismo, Canadá disputará un encuentro en Toronto y dos en Vancouver en esa ronda de grupos.
Al menos tres días de descanso entre partidos
La preparación del calendario de este Mundial entrañaba desafíos mayúsculos, teniendo en cuenta el número ampliado de partidos y selecciones y que es el primero con tres países como organizadores.
En este sentido, la prioridad en la confección del calendario fue el bienestar y la salud de los jugadores y cuidar la experiencia de los fans, explicó a EFE un oficial del Mundial de 2026 involucrado en el desarrollo del calendario.
Así, todos los equipos tendrán al menos tres días de descanso (a veces más) entre los partidos.
Ese mínimo se cumplirá en 103 de los 104 partidos del Mundial. El único que se quedará fuera de esa regla será el duelo por el tercer y cuarto puesto de Miami en el que una de las selecciones llegará con un poco menos de descanso.
Además de la recuperación adecuada de los jugadores, los responsables del Mundial también tuvieron en cuenta hacer los desplazamientos más cómodos y cortos posibles tanto para los futbolistas y las selecciones como para los aficionados, teniendo en cuenta no solo las grandes distancias que hay entre las sedes sino también las diferencias horarias que puedan existir así como las variaciones en el tiempo, la humedad o la altura.
Para ello se dividieron las 16 sedes en tres zonas (Oeste, Centro y Este) con la intención de reducir los viajes y hacer un Mundial lo más sostenible posible.
Los responsables del calendario recabaron las opiniones de muchas partes involucradas en un torneo así, como expertos médicos o las televisiones que tienen los derechos de retransmisión.
No obstante, una novedad en la preparación fue que también hablaron con entrenadores y directores técnicos de selecciones nacionales para conocer sus inquietudes e ideas sobre la elaboración de este calendario.
Tras la presentación de este calendario queda por saber los horarios de cada partido y qué equipos jugarán cada encuentro, algo que se conocerá en el sorteo que está previsto para finales de 2025.
