The Philadelphia Foundation, in partnership with the Lenfest Institute for Journalism and with support from the William Penn Foundation, launched the second edition of Philly Gives on October 29 at 6ABC Philadelphia studios, a community campaign that seeks to unite the city around generosity and social commitment.

The initiative invites residents, businesses, and organizations across the region to donate collectively in support of ten nonprofit organizations that provide essential services in housing, food access, healthcare, youth development, and employment.

“When we combine community-driven philanthropy with the power of local storytelling, we achieve extraordinary impact,” said Pedro Ramos, President and CEO of the Philadelphia Foundation. “This effort proves that, even in uncertain times, Philadelphia’s spirit of solidarity remains unbreakable.”

Among the entities that benefited are: Attic Youth Center, Catholic Charities of Philadelphia, Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC), Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Esperanza, Project HOME, Jewish Family and Children’s Services (JFCS), Philabundance, SEAMAAC (Southwest Asian Mutual Assistance Associations Coalition), and the SHARE Food Program. Dr. Janet Haas, founder of the initiative, reflected on its purpose: “Philly Gives was born out of a desire to inspire more giving and volunteering by sharing the stories of those who work every day to support the most vulnerable in our region.”

From November 1 through December 31, 2025, the community is invited to join the cause. “Philly Gives is a powerful example of what happens when philanthropy, media, and civic leadership come together to transform lives,” noted Dalila Wilson-Scott, Executive Vice President of Comcast Corporation.

Supported by major partners such as Comcast, Bank of America, Connelly Foundation, and Hamilton Family Charitable Trust, the campaign ensures that 100% of donations go directly to participating organizations, making a tangible difference in the lives of thousands of people.

More than just a campaign, Philly Gives is a community-driven philanthropic fund whose mission is to strengthen organizations addressing the region’s most urgent needs, connecting donors with local causes and fostering a culture of solidarity that uplifts the most vulnerable communities across Greater Philadelphia.
