This fall, residents looking to improve their employment prospects or grow their small businesses will have the chance to boost their English and computer skills through two new educational programs launching in September.

The Entrepreneurs English for Job Search course will run from September 22 to November 26, offering instruction tailored for individuals who are actively seeking employment and want to strengthen their English language abilities and digital literacy. Classes will be held in person on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Center City, and online on Fridays during the same hours. To participate, individuals must have intermediate English, basic computer skills, and be ready to begin a job search.

Meanwhile, a second course, English for Entrepreneurs, will take place from September 25 to December 11, aimed at small business owners or those in the process of starting a business. This program is designed to help participants improve communication for business purposes, sharpen their digital skills, and build a network of peer support. Classes will be held in person on Thursdays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Northeast Philadelphia and online on Tuesdays at the same time. Applicants must have intermediate English proficiency, basic computer skills, and an active or developing business.

Participants in both programs will benefit from practical instruction, hands-on learning opportunities, and guidance from experienced instructors. In addition to strengthening English language skills for the workplace or entrepreneurial settings, the programs aim to foster community and empower students to move forward with confidence in their careers and ventures.
