PENN AMERICAN JEWISH ALLIANCE

The Pennsylvania Asian Pacific American Jewish Alliance (PAPAJA) will launch later this month in an effort to stem a rising tide of hate-fueled incidents against both groups. The alliance—which starts with a core working group that has been established with six Asian Pacific Americans and six Jews to move the project forward —aims to create ties between the two groups, whose backgrounds may be different but have come to have much in common living in Pennsylvania. PAPAJA will make its formal debut Sept. 29 at the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia, which will include a message from Gov. Tom Wolf.Following the news conference, the alliance will tour the Weitzman Museum and view an exhibit called The Future will Follow the Past, which highlights rising hate in the U.S. Contact: Marcia Bronstein 215-665-2300, bronsteinm@ajc.org
