The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has awarded a $49,960 grant to The Center for Youth & Community Development in Adams County, Pennsylvania, to prevent underage drinking and promote responsible alcohol consumption among adults.

The grant was presented on October 16 during the «Family Friday» event, organized by the «Collaborating for Youth» (CFY) initiative at Oakside Community Park in Biglerville, PA.

Representing the granting organization, Director of Regulatory Affairs, Andy Stuffick and Executive Director Rodrigo Díaz presented the funds. Accepting the grant were CFY Executive Director Andrea Dolges, Adams County Commissioners Mark Clowney and Jim Martin, and CFY Youth Coalition Director Aaron Zipp. Also in attendance were Arturo Hernández, Vicente Cernas, Yeimi Zetina, Alli Thompson, Liliana Hernández, and Jennifer Cortez.

The funds will be used for educational social media campaigns, advertisements in English and Spanish, family-oriented activities, podcasts, and billboards. Additionally, campaigns will be launched to raise awareness about the risks associated with providing alcohol to minors.

CFY has received grants from the PLCB for nearly 15 years to support its alcohol prevention and education programs.

In September, the PLCB announced the distribution of more than $3.6 million in grants to 90 organizations across 46 Pennsylvania counties. These funds are intended to prevent underage drinking, reduce dangerous alcohol consumption, and strengthen community-based initiatives.

Since 1999, the PLCB has awarded over $28 million in grants for such programs as part of its ongoing efforts to foster healthier and safer communities.
