Norma García is an example of how perseverance, passion, and education can transform a life story into a successful business. Founder of NG Event & Decor, this entrepreneur has built—through her love for flowers and decoration—a brand that now stands out in social celebrations and corporate events. Her story is not only about entrepreneurship, but also about roots, opportunities, and personal growth.
From Esperanza to business growth
More than two decades ago, Norma García arrived with the desire to better herself. Without speaking English, she found in Esperanza a space for learning and support that marked the beginning of her journey. There, she studied, learned, and became part of a community that gave her tools and confidence: “When I arrived, I didn’t know any English, but here I found a very good program that gave me the opportunity to learn,” García recalls.
That experience was decisive. Not only did she gain knowledge, but she also strengthened her confidence and vision for the future. Today, she recognizes that her time at Esperanza was key to becoming the businesswoman she is: “They gave me an opportunity here, and now they’re giving me another one—but this time as an entrepreneur. I’m very grateful,” she says.
Years later, returning to Esperanza not as a student but as an entrepreneur had special meaning when she was selected to handle the floral decoration for the organization’s 40th anniversary. For Norma, this moment represented both a full circle and a new beginning: “It was like a child returning home,” she says of the experience that marked her journey.

NG Event & Decor: From passion to a profession
Norma’s business began around 2019, although her experience with flowers goes back more than six years. Since then, she has specialized in floral decoration for weddings, quinceañeras, celebrations, and corporate events.
Her business has become a local reference point thanks to the creativity and dedication she brings to every project. For her, working in what she loves doesn’t feel like work, but rather a constant source of joy: “When you have the opportunity to work in what you love, you’re not really working; you wake up happy every day,” she says.
One of the most important moments in her career was her participation in Esperanza’s 40th anniversary celebration. There, she oversaw the entire floral concept—a project she took on with deep pride and commitment: “I was inspired by the colors and by us Latinos, who are full of joy. I wanted the event to convey emotion and celebration,” she explains.
Her proposal, which included roses, orchids, and tropical elements, was selected from several options. “That among so many people they chose my design is something I’m very grateful to God for,” she adds.
Beyond the visual result, the experience had significant emotional value. Being part of such an important event for the institution where her journey began reaffirmed her personal and professional growth.

A message of inspiration for the community
Norma García doesn’t just create decorations—she inspires others. Her message is clear: seek opportunities, surround yourself with the right people, and invest in education.
“Look for the right places, surround yourself with the right people, and prepare yourself. There are many opportunities here,” she advises.
Her story proves that dreams can come true. “Everything you dream of in life, you can achieve. If it’s in your mind, it’s because you can do it,” she affirms.
Today, she invites the community to get to know her work and support local businesses. NG Event & Decor is not just a business it’s the reflection of a woman who found in education, especially what she received at Esperanza, the motivation and confidence to become the entrepreneur she is today.
