United States President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday to rename Lake Ontario «Lake America.»

“Lake of America’ was something I’ve been thinking about for a long time,” said the president, who had already issued the threat on Tuesday via social media after he got into a war of insults with the premier of the Canadian province of Ontario, Doug Ford, amid the trade war with the neighboring country.

Regarding the name changes, Trump noted, “So, if you think about it, we have a gulf, and we have a lake. Now, all we need is an ocean.”

“So maybe we’ll have to change the name of the Atlantic and/or the Pacific. Maybe we’ll change them,” he added.

Regarding Canada, Trump continued to criticize its leaders and once again threatened to impose further tariffs.

Furthermore, and in line with his recent offensive against Canada, Trump insisted that “on Trade, and in other ways, also, they are among the worst Nations in the World to deal with,” he wrote on Truth Social.

“They feel entitled, and yet, WE DON’T NEED CANADA, THEY NEED US! They do 95% of their business with the U.S., with us, the exact opposite!” he added.
