The famous Puerto Rican singer Victoria Sanabria, an ambassador of Puerto Rico’s traditional and folk music, delivered a heartfelt performance on Saturday, June 14, in Philadelphia as part of the Festival de la Caña. This time, she did so as a family: her 16-year-old son Esteban is now an official member of her orchestra. “How special that my son Esteban will be joining me this time,” she shared with excitement. “He sings backup vocals in the band and joins me in two songs. I think the biggest surprise of the show will be his performance.”

Sanabria explained that her son’s involvement came naturally. “He’s always loved music and singing… He started by joining me on stage and knew all the songs. His dad had the idea of making it official and including him in the band, and that’s how it happened. He’s adapted like a fish in water.”

With a strong career in traditional Puerto Rican music, bolero, and fusion, Victoria has collaborated with major names in Latin music. Now, working with her family gives her career a new dimension. Her husband, Luis “Tito” Olivera, is also a important part of her team, serving as her manager.

During her visit to Philadelphia, Sanabria also took part in a Father’s Day event hosted by famous radio host   y community personality María del Pilar. There, she paid tribute to all fathers—and especially her own at home.

“Being a dad isn’t easy, but it’s a job that fills the soul. I recognize all the fathers who give their best to guide their children. And I celebrate my manager and hubby, Luis Olivera, an exceptional father… a super-dad!”.

“That family connection is what makes me feel whole,” she added. “That’s why, in this artistic and life journey, I celebrate my husband not only as a partner, but as a father.”

Sanabria also revealed that she’s working on a large-scale musical collaboration and preparing for a packed Christmas performance schedule. “This year, interest started early. We’re fully focused on continuing to grow,” she said.

Before wrapping up her visit, she shared a message of unity with Philadelphia’s Latino community: “It’s important that, as Latinos, we come together, learn from one another, and keep our traditions alive. United by this language, this flavor, and this joy that defines us—we can truly be one big family.”

Victoria Sanabria remains a powerful voice, with natural charisma and a deep connection to her Puerto Rican roots… and now, a symbol of family unity in the diaspora.
