Have you ever wanted to make an Instagram post to promote your business, or maybe just a fun flyer for your party? Canva could be the perfect tool for you. Canva is a free app that allows you to create a wide variety of content to print out or post online. Flyers, brochures, logos, presentations, social media posts, videos, and more. This app is great for all skill levels, so even if you’re just starting with computers or design, you will be able to create something visually appealing.

Get started by going to Canva.com on your computer, or by downloading the Canva app on your phone. From there, either make an account or sign in with your Google or Facebook accounts. Once you get in, it’s as simple as typing in what you want to make in the search bar. Canva will present you with excellent templates; some you have to pay for, but many are free. Replace the example text with whatever you need to say, or you can use the template as a jumping off point and completely customize it to your liking. There are many pre-made illustrations, photos, and other graphics you can use to enhance your creation. Like with the templates, not all of them are free, but there is a lot to work with just with the free options.

If you’re interested in learning more about Canva and getting some hands-on practice, sign up for a free workshop with Esperanza’s Hope Digital Skills Program. Calling 215-297-4641 or email digitalskills@esperanza.us to register.
