Philadelphia, PA — In a press release, the Mexican Entrepreneurs Association (AEM) in Philadelphia announced that Felipa Ventura, owner of the renowned Taquería Morales, assumed the presidency of the organization on February 4. Her leadership comes at a crucial time for the Latino community, marked by migration and economic challenges.
With this appointment, Ventura becomes the first woman to lead the organization, marking a historic milestone for the AEM and reaffirming the key role of Latina entrepreneurs in the local economy.
Joining Ventura is a dynamic leadership team: Andrés Hernández, owner of Adelita Taquería, will serve as vice presidents, and Karina Sánchez, owner of Los Cuatro Soles, while Gerardo Coronado will take on the role of Association Manager and Member Advocate.
This new leadership comes at a time when the Latino business community faces unprecedented challenges, from shifting immigration policies to the need to adapt to an increasingly digital and competitive market.
“My commitment is clear: we want Latino entrepreneurs to not only have the tools to grow and innovate but also to be recognized for their economic and social impact in Philadelphia, the city we have chosen as our home,” Ventura stated during the announcement of her appointment.
AN AMBITIOUS AGENDA FOR BUSINESS GROWTH
According to the press release, the new AEM administration has outlined a strategic plan focused on four key pillars. First, the association will prioritize business training, implementing programs in areas such as digital marketing, online sales, and leadership development.
Second, the AEM will work to strengthen the visibility and promotion of Latino businesses by creating online advertising spaces to help entrepreneurs increase their presence in the local market. Additionally, the association will collaborate with the City’s Commerce Department to enhance safety and beautify 9th Street, including the installation of surveillance cameras and improvements to this iconic commercial corridor.
Finally, the AEM will develop strategies to support the migrant community, providing education and guidance to Latino entrepreneurs on legal, financial, and rights-related issues in response to changes in immigration policies.
A PROMISING FUTURE FOR LATINO ENTREPRENEURS
Felipa Ventura’s leadership represents a new chapter for the AEM, which aims to solidify its role as a bridge between Latino entrepreneurs, government authorities, and other community organizations. Her vision not only focuses on the economic growth of its members but also on their recognition as key contributors to Philadelphia’s development.
In a time of uncertainty, the AEM stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for the Latino community, proving that unity and determination can overcome challenges and build a prosperous future.
With Felipa Ventura at the helm, the AEM is not only strengthening its leadership but also sending a clear message: Latino entrepreneurs are ready to shine in Philadelphia and beyond, the press release stated.
