Last Thursday September 4, Elvis Crespo made a special stop at Bodega Vélez, located in the Aramingo section of Philadelphia, as part of his “Colmadito Tour.”
During a live broadcast with María del Pilar on La Mega, Crespo spoke openly about his healing journey following recent personal challenges.
“I used to be a wounded poet, but now I’m a healed poet. I’m looking forward,” he said with confidence.
He also spoke about his departure from Top Chef VIP (Telemundo), playfully referencing his now iconic “mayoketchup” moment:
“I broke that Top Chef,” he joked. “But music is my life, and I had to stay true to my career.”
Joined by his band Los Salvavidas, Crespo performed four live songs, bringing joy and energy to all in attendance.
One of them, longtime fan Marta Elena Pineda (known as Martita), shared: “I love his songs. Seeing him up close like this makes me so happy.”
Elvis warmly greeted attendees, posed for photos, hugged fans, and filled the bodega with smiles. It was a powerful moment of genuine connection with the Latino community that has supported him from the very beginning.
Before the performance, Crespo shared this with Impacto in an exclusive interview:
“This helps me reconnect with my roots. I was born in New York, and during my first six years, I used to go to the colmados with my mom. That’s where I connected with my language, my culture, my people. And that’s exactly what we’re doing here.”
He closed with a heartfelt message to his audience: “Thank you for listening to my music and for always supporting me. I carry you in my heart.”
Through his “Colmadito Tour”, Crespo has accomplished more than just promoting his music. He’s revived the spirit of those who have followed his journey.
The Philadelphia stop is one of many in this intimate tour that honors the small but significant businesses that are the heart of Latino communities across the United States.
Where’s Elvis headed next?
After Philadelphia, the Colmadito Tour is expected to continue with possible stops in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Locations are announced just days before through his official social media channels.
