Philadelphia, PA – Families and residents gathered at the intersection of Fifth Street and Lehigh Avenue on Saturday as the Hispanic Association of Contractors and Enterprises (HACE) hosted its annual Fiesta de la Cuadra, transforming the busy commercial corridor into a vibrant space for culture and community engagement.

The free event featured live performances by Jimmy George & The Latin Express, Combo Melaza, and Tino Serrano & Su Banda, drawing attendees to the stage throughout the afternoon.

Neighbors danced to live Latin music while children participated in obstacle courses, games and arts and crafts activities designed for families. Alongside the entertainment, community organizations hosted informational tables and interactive activities for residents.

HACE welcomed visitors to learn more about its programs and neighborhood initiatives, while organizations including Clean Philadelphia Now and its Trash Academy program, Home Depot, and PNC Bank connected attendees with community resources and educational activities.

For more than four decades, HACE has worked to strengthen Philadelphia’s Latino communities through neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing, economic development and community engagement.

Events like Fiesta de la Cuadra reflect that mission by creating opportunities for residents to celebrate their culture while learning about services and organizations working within the neighborhood.

Throughout the afternoon, neighbors gathered along the sidewalks to enjoy the performances and spend time with family and friends. The celebration highlighted the diversity and vibrancy of the Fifth Street corridor while reinforcing the importance of public events that bring residents and local organizations together.

As music filled the intersection and families moved from activity to activity, Fiesta de la Cuadra once again demonstrated how community-centered events can strengthen neighborhood connections while celebrating the culture that defines North Philadelphia’s Latino community.
