In the city of Philadelphia, where cultures and flavors from around the world converge, two Argentine sisters are winning over taste buds with a product full of history, identity, and family love. Marcela and Tatiana Benito are the creators of Tutto Alfajores, a business born from nostalgia that is now emerging as a solid offering in the local market.

Their story began far from home, but very close to the heart. Inspired by their mother’s legacy, they decided to continue that tradition in the United States: “The opportunity for Tutto came about to carry on a family legacy. Our mom in Argentina was a pastry chef—she baked and taught us how to make alfajores… being far from our roots, this is a way to reconnect with what’s ours,” Marcela shared.

A flavor that connects cultures

The alfajores, a traditional Argentine sweet, has become the star of this story. Although many in Philadelphia were unfamiliar with it, today it sparks surprise and excitement among those who try it for the first time: “People here who didn’t know cornstarch alfajores would say, ‘What is this delight?’… some customers would wait every year until December for me to bring them,” says Tatiana.

This dessert consists of two soft cornstarch cookies filled with dulce de leche and coated with shredded coconut. However, the sisters also innovate with new versions, incorporating chocolate, quince, or special touches depending on the occasion.

From the pandemic to a growing business

The business took shape during the pandemic, when Tatiana began baking from home. What started as a gesture for clients from her cleaning business quickly turned into a commercial opportunity: “During COVID I started making them, and people would come to my house to pick them up. That’s when the idea of selling them came up,” she explains.

Since then, Tutto Alfajores has evolved into a flexible model: made-to-order sales, participation in community events, local markets, and fairs.

More than a business, an experience

The impact of the product goes beyond taste. For many customers, trying an alfajores is an unexpected sensory experience: “When they try them… I see their eyes light up like little stars… it’s a sensory experience,” Tatiana described.

They also offer customized options for events, from themed decorations to special presentations, adapting to each client’s needs.

“Our greatest ambition is to share this little piece of our childhood… so more people can get to know and appreciate alfajores,” Marcela said. “The message is for people to connect with us, to try something new… we are always creating and sharing,” added Tatiana.

A legacy that continues

Although their mother is no longer physically present, her presence lives on in every recipe: “I think she would be happy, proud… it’s something she passed on to us,” Marcela said emotionally.

Today, these sisters are not just baking alfajores, they are building a bridge between cultures, generations, and communities.
