At Reach Cyber Charter School, our English Language Development (ELD) program helps English Language Learners (ELLs) build language proficiency while succeeding academically and socially.

For Ireisha and her three children, Lordes, a seventh grader; Anibal, a fourth grader; and Isabella, a second grader, Reach Cyber provided both.

Spanish is the primary language spoken in Ireisha’s home. Her older children experienced challenges when learning in English-speaking classrooms.
«The older two had the experience of not understanding the language in the classroom because of the language barrier,» Ireisha explained.

«If they don’t understand something, the ELD teacher will meet with them and explain what the words mean,» she said. «It’s been helpful to have someone extra to help them learn the language. They’re able to get that support every single day.»
