Philadelphia will host the first-ever statewide Latino convening in Pennsylvania, PODER: A Latino Call to Action, to be held at the Gran Salón, 4261 N 5th St, Philadelphia, PA 19140, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event is part of a broader effort to strengthen civic engagement, representation, and community leadership.

Organized by LULAC, the gathering will bring together Latino leaders, activists, and community members from across the state for a space centered on dialogue and action, with a focus on the present and future of the Latino community in Pennsylvania. The program will feature opening remarks by LULAC National President Roman Palomares.

During the convening, organizers will present a new data dashboard on the Latino community, along with panel discussions featuring civic and community leaders whose work is making an impact throughout the region. Attendees will also have access to voter registration opportunities, civic education, and resources to encourage active participation in upcoming elections.

The program will also include a cultural experience designed to foster community connection and highlight Latino identity. The event is being held in partnership with Jefetona, an organization supporting mobilization and civic engagement efforts ahead of the May primary elections and the November 2026 general election.

According to organizers, the convening comes at a time when Pennsylvania’s Latino population has grown significantly in recent years, yet that growth has not been reflected proportionally in political and civic representation.
