Esperanza Arts Center unveils 2025/2026 season: a celebration of Indigenous roots and Latino creativity in America

Philadelphia, PA – Esperanza Arts Center (EAC) has announced its 2025/2026 season, a vibrant lineup highlighting the Indigenous traditions of Latin America and the diverse artistic contributions of Latino creators across the United States.

Titled «Orígenes,» the season will feature world premieres by renowned Cuban composer Leo Brouwer, the Calpulli Mexican Dance Company, and the center’s 2025/2026 Artist in Residence, Tony Mendez.

A new highlight this year is the launch of the Primera Primavera Latin Jazz series, curated by Grammy-winning musician and recording artist Pablo Batista.

The season also brings collaborations with an array of cultural and music organizations, including BoriCorridor, Network for New Music, Artcinia, Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society, Piffaro, Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, and the American Composers Forum.

Audiences can look forward to performances by Josean Ortiz, Marcelle McGuirck, Ángel Vázquez, Nidia Góngora, Anjoli Santiago, ensemble132, Ollin Yolitzli Calmecac, and Los Bomberos de la Calle. Annual community favorites will also return, including Christmas en el Barrio with AMLA, Stand Up with Che Guerrero, and De Cerca with the Philadelphia Ballet.

The season is made possible with major support from the William Penn Foundation, The Presser Foundation, Pennsylvania Council for the Arts, City of Philadelphia, Creative PHL, Musical Fund Society, AARP Philadelphia, Steven R. Gerber Trust, and the MidAtlantic Foundation.
