DEP extends PA freight innovations in transportation grant Deadline

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has extended the application deadline for its PA Freight Innovations in Transportation (PA-FIT) Grant until December 19, 2025. More than $23 million is available to reduce diesel emissions from freight and cargo transportation sources in areas disproportionately impacted by diesel emissions.

“Reducing emissions from diesel engines is one of the biggest air quality opportunities facing Pennsylvania,” said DEP Secretary Jessica Shirley. “This program is a great addition to the Shapiro Administration’s Driving PA Forward initiative to improve air quality in Pennsylvania, funding a wide range of diesel emission reduction projects.

DEP will consider eligible project types from the categories listed below. A single proposal may target multiple fleets, fleet types, and/or diesel emission reduction solutions. Eligible diesel emission reduction solutions include, but are not limited to:
