City releases transportation information ahead of MLB All-Star week activities

Philadelphia’s historic summer continues as the city welcomes the 2026 MLB All-Star Week, bringing six days of premier baseball events, fan experiences, and community celebrations to Citizens Bank Park and venues across Philadelphia.  

Beginning Friday, July 10, with the HBCU Swingman Classic and culminating Tuesday, July 14, with the star-studded 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

HBCU Swingman Classic 

Friday, July 10, 2026

Citizens Bank Park

The fourth annual HBCU Swingman Classic features 50 elite players from Division-1 programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey, Jr. co-created the game to give HBCU players a chance to play in the national spotlight. Tickets are on sale now

The 2026 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard comes to Philadelphia! On July 14, the best and brightest from the American League (AL) and the National League (NL) will battle it out. Tune in to FOX when they take the field at 8:00 p.m. ET on July 14.

Parking Restrictions 

The above-listed streets will be posted as “Temporary No Parking” zones. Motorists must adhere to “Temporary No Parking” signs. Vehicles parked in these locations during posted hours will be relocated. If you believe your car has been relocated, call the police district of the area where your car was parked.  

The Autopark at Independence Mall will be closed beginning at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, July 13. The 5th Street exit will remain open for vehicles to exit and relocate. All vehicles must be relocated by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14. 
Philadelphia Independence Visitor Center

The Philadelphia Independence Visitor will be closed to the public beginning at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14. It will be reopened at the conclusion of the event. 

Transportation Details

SEPTA

Philadelphia’s mass transit system, SEPTA, offers two subway lines, regional rail service to and from the surrounding suburbs, and bus service throughout the city.

Getting to Citizens Bank Park

Citizens Bank Park is in South Philly and is part of the Sports Complex. The Complex is served by NRG Station, the final stop on the B. Simply ride the B southbound to the final stop, and Citizens Bank Park is steps away. 

If you’re taking Regional Rail into Philadelphia, exit at either Suburban Station or Jefferson Station – both of these are just a short walk away from 15th Street/City Hall Station, where you’ll be able to board the B.  

Getting to the Pennsylvania Convention Center

The Convention Center is in Center City. It’s only a couple of blocks away from City Hall, and 15th St/City Hall Station is served by the L, B, and T, , making it a very convenient option. The area is also served by a number of SEPTA bus routes. 

If you’re taking Regional Rail into Philadelphia, you’ll want to exit at Jefferson Station – from there, it’s just about a 10-minute walk to the Convention Center. 


Getting to Independence Mall 

Independence Mall is part of the Independence National Historical Park and is located in Old City. The area is served by its own station on the L, 5th St/Independence Hall, which brings you right to the Park and steps away from the Mall. 

If you’re taking Regional Rail into Philadelphia, you’ll want to exit at Jefferson Station – from there, it’s just about a 15-minute walk to Independence Mall.

Additional Information for Residents

Neighborhood parking management will be conducted the same way as a Phillies game or other event at the stadiums.  Parking in the stadium district is reserved for Permit Parking Only on all game days.

Public Safety Information

Stadium Bag Policy 

In an effort to expedite entry, guests are prohibited from bringing non-clear bags, including backpacks and draw-string bags, into Citizens Bank Park, and all other All-Star venues. 

Only clutch purses and/or fanny packs (no larger than 5″ x 7″), clear bags (no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″), medical bags, and diaper bags will be permitted into Citizens Bank Park, and all other All-Star venues. 

Guests may discard or return the prohibited items to their vehicle as well as store them in any of our locker locations: First Base Gate, Third Base Gate, or Left Field Gate, or the Mobile Locker Truck at South 11th St. and Pattison Avenue. 

Fans are encouraged to review all security and ballpark polices to ensure they are following ballpark policy.

Please note, that the prohibited items differ from other All-Star Week events. 


No Drone Zone  

MLB All-Star Week events and crowd locations are No Drone Zones. Flying drones near stadiums or over gatherings of people is illegal and dangerous. If you see a drone, report its location and description of the operator to the nearest public safety or event official.
