On Saturday, May 31, 2025, for the fourth consecutive year, the presence of God was evident at the Esperanza campus in the city of Philadelphia. The message of God’s beauty in the “City of Brotherly Love” resonated with more than 250 people, including youth ministry teams, local churches, business leaders, and community members not only from Philadelphia but also from distant states such as Florida, North Carolina, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York.
It was a day with messages of unity and spiritual refocusing messages that may not be new, but are often forgotten. Under one roof, entire generations experienced how God can manifest in unexpected places, forms, sizes, and voices.
God continues to show up. He continues to be found. He continues to speak, to heal, and to transform lives. He was seen in the trust shared, the smiles exchanged, and the tears shed.
Christine Nieves, Senior Vice President of Development at Esperanza, shared:
«In a time when many are searching for hope, ‘God in the City’ is an important resource. I’ve had the privilege of equipping youth leaders and pastors who are on the front lines, giving them fundraising tools to make their visions a reality, and celebrating uplifting messages with our youth during the evening rally with Christian music artists.»
From the perspectives of coordinators, volunteers, vendors, maintenance staff, facilitators, and participants from all over the country, everyone witnessed the message God intended to deliver.
Pastor Gloricely Ortiz, from Iglesia Pentecostal La Luz Verdadera, attended the event for the first time also participating as a vendor of personalized products.
«The event was a total success, not only because it responded to the needs of the youth, but also because it offered ongoing classes to support pastors and help the community,» she said.
Eliana Andino, also a first-time attendee, expressed her joy:
«The topic of family was very important because people need to understand that family was instituted by God. The idea that family is outdated or just a tradition is wrong. We must remember that the Church exists to support families.»
The central theme of the event was clear and aimed at young people because God is not only found in the stillness of the mountains; He also dwells in the beauty and bustle of the city.
Melvin González, chaplain of Christian services at Caring Heart Nursing Home in Philadelphia, said: «I love this event because it’s a way to take young people off the streets, and parents should support their children’s desires.»
If you didn’t attend this year, the organizers extend a special invitation for you to join in 2026. The morning conference and after-party will take place on April 25, 2026. Come and experience God in the City!
