Bill Rhoads – Esperanza

“Following our first VOCES Series last season spotlighting the arts and culture of Puerto Rico, we’re excited to continue our annual exploration of the rich tapestry of Latino traditions from around the world.  This season we invite you to explore Brazil’s complex history and diverse cultural landscape with exclusive streamed screenings, presentations and livestreamed performances from Teatro Esperanza by a stellar roster of Philadelphia-based artists and partners, including Ologundê, Minas, Pennsylvania Ballet, Philadelphia Latino Film Festival, and Orchestra 2001. We’ll cap off the series with a truly unique artistic collaboration – the world premiere of Forrópera: a new staged production led by Astral Artist Chrystal E. Williams and Forró accordionist Felipe Hostins, and featuring students from Esperanza Academy in North Philadelphia.” Bill Rhoads
