The Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds, led by Jeanne Sorg, has invited all local veterans to attend the annual Veterans Resource Fair, scheduled for Tuesday, October 7, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The event will take place at the Greater Plymouth Community Center, located at 2910 Jolly Road in Plymouth Meeting.
The fair will bring together representatives from several county offices and departments, including the Veterans Services Office, the Office of Senior Services, and Parks, Trails and Historic Sites, to provide veterans with information on the wide range of services and programs available to them.
Sorg emphasized the significance of the initiative, noting that “the Montgomery County Veterans Resource Fair is a vital opportunity to connect veterans with services and programs in one place, while honoring those who have served our country.”
During the event, the Recorder of Deeds office will also be recording military discharge papers and issuing Veterans’ Discount ID cards, which grant veterans access to discounts at more than 650 businesses across Montgomery County.
In addition to county resources, the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, the Military Women’s Memorial, and the Coatesville VA will also be on site with information for veterans. Skippack Pharmacy will host an on-site vaccine clinic, offering flu shots as well as the latest Covid-19 vaccines.
Representatives from the offices of Congresswoman Madeleine Dean and Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon will be present to assist veterans with retrieving military discharge documents from the National Archives. The Coatesville VA Medical Center will also be available to answer questions about VA medical benefits, alongside organizations such as Team RWB and the Vet Center.
Pre-registration for the Veterans Resource Fair is recommended. Veterans may register online by completing the form at forms.office.com/r/5zG9zy24gn or by calling the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds office at 610-278-3289.
